About this location

Spread across an overgrown lot in Limburg, this former army storage site holds dozens of military vehicles, trailers, and containers parked irregularly among tall grass, weeds, and small trees, many under faded green canvas or left to rust. An olive-green Renault truck cab with a yellow circular marking on its grille and a G 29 plate sits exposed to the elements, while a weathered white vehicle marked UN, Tommy, and Zombie Hoer stands beside a wooden-sided trailer loaded with scrap metal, and a disc harrow implement corrodes nearby with peeling paint. Elsewhere an orange boxy vehicle with a roof beacon, a white tractor with front loader, and dark military trucks sit derelict, some partially dismantled or missing parts, with no people in sight. Toward the edge of the grounds, a paved road runs past a long, low red-brick building whose pitched roof is heavily mossed over, fronted by a small white-railed structure and a post-and-wire fence. Bright skies, long shadows, scattered fallen leaves, and uncut vegetation give the whole site a quiet, long-abandoned atmosphere.
