Fort V
About this location
Fort V in Montenegro is a decayed concrete fort where light falls through small openings into cold, rubble-strewn chambers. In one circular room, a domed ceiling frames a large rusted iron gear ring with a central shaft and a small rectangular skylight, while peeling stained plaster, recessed arched niches, and dirt scattered with debris cover the walls and floor. Another chamber holds an overhead rusted circular metal ring with radiating spokes, its central shaft lit from an opening above as dark pipes run along the side walls. A narrow, rough-walled tunnel leads toward a bright vertical opening, with a low dark barrier and horizontal slot above a wet, reflective floor, plus cobwebs and dark stains. Elsewhere, a vaulted concrete bunker room is heavily marked by rust, peeling paint, and moisture, with a small rectangular light opening flanked by empty niches and a curved metal track arcing across the derelict floor.
