Genitoy Farm
About this location
Genitoy Farm in Seine-et-Marne is a derelict farm complex whose long pale facade, red tiled roof, two dormer windows and rows of empty dark window openings stand above overgrown shrubs and dry grasses, with a pyramidal-roofed wing and small cupola visible to one side. Inside, decay runs from a debris-filled corridor where a jagged hole breaks through thick plaster and exposes wood strips and plaster layers, to rooms with cracked and peeling ceilings, dark wood paneling, a crumbling brick fireplace, tattered gray curtains, an exposed wooden ceiling, louvered shutters, and floors buried under fallen plaster, concrete chunks, splintered wood, boards, rubble and debris, including a wooden pallet-like structure. Graffiti is everywhere: black-and-yellow pieces, white tags including AXEL and BOOBOO, black-and-white marks, a large pink bubble-letter piece, red text reading Zenour ADP Le Pen salope, and a red anarchy symbol, often applied over peeling paint and tile. Daylight enters through open windows or doorways, revealing vines growing into one decayed room, while an attic or roof void shows a horizontal beam with two frayed ropes, torn insulation between dark supports, gaps that let daylight through, and a rough wooden frame holding black plastic sheeting over a pale concrete-like surface. The overall atmosphere is damp, neglected and demolition-like, with white patterned wall tiles, red floor tiles and a dark open doorway adding to the sense of abandonment.
