Hospital Morgue
About this location
The approach to the hospital morgue in Aude, France, is a nighttime perimeter of locked gates and dark, overgrown edges, where a paved road ends at a closed chain-link gate and a narrow dirt track disappears into dense trees and brush under harsh artificial light. White metal gates with vertical bars and mesh are topped with barbed wire, set beside concrete blocks and asphalt, and marked with red-and-white warnings including SITE SOUS SURVEILLANCE, SSP MÉDITERRANÉE, and ENTREE DE ... ADRESSEZ VOUS A L'INTERPHONE. I tried to get in, but the fencing and barbed wire were difficult to cross and looked frequently reinstalled, and with a light burning in a distant hospital room, I didn't enter. Beyond the gates, the morgue itself remains unseen, with no interior, fixtures, or abandoned objects visible from the outer approach.
