Huize de Beer
About this location
Huize de Beer is a sprawling, long-abandoned farmstead on the edge of Antwerp, its main house and outbuildings slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding vegetation. Inside, the decay is everywhere—peeling paint, exposed brick, and broken wooden beams litter the floors, while a collapsed structure and scattered debris speak to years of neglect. A pile of colorful plastic crates sits abandoned in the rubble, an odd splash of industry among the ruin, and a tawny owl has taken up residence on a weathered windowsill, watching over the stillness. Down in the basement, raw concrete walls and sagging timbers round out the picture of a place that has completely surrendered to time.
