The old jute works outside Ardèche sits wide open under a bright French sky, its long facade shedding grey plaster to reveal red brick arches and rows of boarded windows. Ivy crawls up the walls while pink, teal, blue, and red tags mark the lower levels, where weeds and tall grass have swallowed the concrete paths. A concrete underpass cuts beneath the site, its dark tunnel spilling out onto a grassy route choked by vines and weather-stained walls. Beyond a gravel track and scattered boulders, a transmission tower stands distant on the horizon, a quiet reminder that this place has been left for nature to take back.
