Lost Wood Plane

About this location

Deep in a sunlit clearing among the tall trees of Drenthe, a weathered military aircraft sits grounded, its faded green camouflage and RAF roundel now covered in peeling paint and rotting wood. The plane's canvas skin has torn away to expose the frame beneath, and the cockpit gapes open where the shattered canopy once was. Above the wreck, a tattered beige parachute sags from the branches with a dark mannequin hanging beside it, lending the whole scene an eerie, stage-like stillness. Dappled sunlight falls across the dirt floor and the ring of rocks bordering the landing spot, the forest quietly reclaiming the aircraft one season at a time.
