Inside, the Lung Sanatorium is a maze of long, narrow corridors where peeling white paint and crumbling plaster give way to exposed brick, rubble, and dirt underfoot. Graffiti in vivid pinks, blues, greens, and yellows covers the walls, clashing with the harsh natural light spilling through open doorways that frame the bright trees outside. A decaying staircase with exposed brick adds to the structural collapse, while a rear corridor has lost most of its roof, leaving wooden beams open to the sky and the floor smothered in lush vegetation. A faded white U logo still marks one sunlit wall, and with broken and boarded windows scattered across the facade, the entire complex sits behind a chain-link fence, overgrown and caught between gloomy neglect and a strange, resonant decay.
