Maison Olympic Medaille
About this location
Maison Olympic Medaille feels like a shrine to forgotten achievement, its dim rooms cluttered with military insignia, medals, and ribbons left to gather dust on worn tables. A vintage record player still sits beneath a worn suitcase, surrounded by peeling wallpaper, while a framed motivational quote in Dutch lingers beside a red lace curtain as if waiting for someone to return. Step further and the space opens into an abandoned church interior, where a dilapidated Steinway piano is dwarfed by a statue of Jesus and a frozen clock. The most striking relic is an ornate, carved wooden safe left wide open, its blue interior and gold crest now guarding only tattered papers and a small box, the heavy red-painted door swung back against the wood-paneled walls. All around, scattered paper and debris cover the floors—a painfully beautiful time capsule with plenty to discover.
