Sauna

About this location

The centerpiece of this decaying spa is a wooden spiral staircase with black metal railings, descending through a rust-red stairwell where exposed wiring hangs from the walls—its bottom shaft now swallowed by a stagnant pool of dark water holding a collapsed metal frame. Above, a vast hall opens beneath a glass skylight, its beige tiled floor scattered with rubble and dust, with a curved tiled pool structure at one side now serving as a basin for rocks and debris. Nearby, an empty circular hot tub sits forgotten behind a metal railing, surrounded by the peeling remnants of a wavy brown mural, a tiled pillar, and a window still marked with the faded word "Ripp!"—all of it surrendering quietly to damp, neglect, and the slow creep of decay.
