Teufelsberg
About this location
The massive white geodesic dome atop Teufelsberg has lost so many of its triangular panels that its bare metal skeleton—now daubed in black, blue, and orange—stands fully exposed against the grey sky. Step inside and the same lattice is painted in reds, yellows, greens, and blues, though it's been shattered by time and buried under layers of graffiti, with a broken circular concrete pedestal cracking through the middle of the floor. A second, smaller radome lingers in the background beside a weathered walkway, while the decaying brick structure below sits dark and hollow-eyed. In winter, with snow over the paths and bare trees lining the climb up, the entire compound feels utterly cold, bleak, and abandoned.
