The Old Parked Train in Limburg is a graveyard of rolling stock, where a few preserved pieces like a riveted steam locomotive stand in stark contrast to the decay surrounding them. On the overgrown tracks, rusted freight cars and a red diesel locomotive, EH244, sit half-swallowed by grass and weeds, their metalwork streaked with corrosion. A weathered Interfrigo refrigerated railcar and a coupling mechanism typical of Westinghouse brake systems show the technical history slowly being reclaimed by the landscape. Under a heavy, cloudy sky, the site feels less like a museum and more like a time capsule left to the elements, where the line between preservation and abandonment blurs.
