Yellow Castle
About this location
Behind its weathered ochre facade, the Yellow Castle still holds onto the bones of its classical grandeur, its central dome and flanking towers now crumbling above an overgrown field. Inside, vast symmetrical halls are crowned by grid-patterned skylights that pour warm light across ornate yellow plasterwork and side balconies, though the polished floors have given way to dirt, rubble, and scattered paper. In some rooms the fading is pristine, like a frozen ballroom stripped of furniture; in others, peeling paint and fallen plaster mark a slower, heavier collapse. Dark doorways and boarded windows only deepen the silence, leaving the castle caught between majestic memory and quiet ruin.
