Cimenterie Hulk

Sprawling across a hillside above the Isère valley, Cimenterie Hulk is a colossal cement works whose vast industrial halls, concrete silos, tall tower, and chimney now sit in severe decay. Inside, rusted hoppers, pipes, and caged machinery loom over debris-strewn floors beneath peeling paint and dense layers of graffiti, while sunlight floods through roof gaps and gridded windows, cutting through the dusty air. Overgrown vegetation is reclaiming the grounds, swallowing lower walkways and rusted railings, and trees are visible through the open framing of the buildings. From the heights, the ruined complex overlooks a quiet village and a green valley, with a rocky quarry face on the distant mountain, a large "U" logo still visible, and a graffiti mural of a cartoonish man holding a gun adorning one broken structure. It is a gritty, solemn place, steeped in abandonment and the relentless return of the landscape.
