Crooked house

About this location
Behind a solid wall and a tangle of overgrown bushes, the crooked house’s steep white gable rises against a partially collapsed, exposed roof, its brick chimney still standing above the weeds. The ruin looks out over a murky, weed-filled canal where a black object half-submerged in the water adds to the stillness. A weathered wooden footbridge with metal railings leads across to the property, where the entrance door—white but tagged with blue graffiti—is barely visible behind piles of gray plastic bags and rubble. Dense green trees and foliage swallow the structure on every side, leaving a quiet, heavy sense of decay as nature steadily reclaims the space.
