About this location

Set behind overgrown trees above a low stone retaining wall, the half-timbered Hotel Jugel shows its dark, steep-roofed tower and spire from an asphalt road edged with white lines, a yellow U-turn sign, and a partly cloudy sky. Inside, the abandonment is total: peeling paint and plaster, exposed brick at doorways, debris-strewn floors, and a lone black metal-framed chair surrounded by scattered wood strips and broken plaster, with graffiti-covered walls near windows that still look out onto green trees. A row of orange-handled shopping carts sits abandoned on a ruined floor, while the stairwell areas are dusty and crumbling, with flaking maroon-painted balustrades, rusted handrails, dark doorways, and a collapsed opening above exposing wooden beams. In the tallest ruined room, collapsed floor sections and splintered beams pile below arched and rectangular windows, daylight entering through a bright gap in the partially collapsed ceiling and green trees visible through broken frames.
