About this location

The old Renault plant in Gironde is well into its slow collapse, with roofs gaping open to the sky and vines and ivy clawing through every crack in the brick. Inside the vast halls, a red overhead crane still hangs over floors buried under rubble, splintered wood, and broken panels, while walls bear layers of bright graffiti—pink murals, faded tags, and scattered blue marks. Between the red-brick buildings, a narrow courtyard has become a jungle, a tall tree rising from the center and rusted pipes draped with tattered cloth. The whole site feels caught between industrial decay and nature’s steady takeover, from the overgrown asphalt to the tall tower watching over the ruin.
