Maison B
About this location
The sheet music is long gone, but the upright piano in the first room still stands—its missing front panel exposing a tangle of strings, hammers, and dusty wooden innards. On top of it, a straw hat, a blue cap, a large bell, and a battered black box have been left to gather grime, just below a stained and faded portrait of a man that watches over the peeling white walls. Across the way, the living room tells a softer story of decay: a large blue painting of a nude woman leans between a torn black leather armchair and a plum-colored sofa, while a white coffee table and stool sit abandoned on the geometric blue-and-brown tile. With its yellow-green walls and a single tall window casting weak light across the dust, Maison B feels like a snapshot of a life interrupted—somebody walked out and simply never came back, leaving the badminton racket, the odd wooden pole, and every silent room to settle into oblivion.
