Military Ghost Cemetery

The military cemetery outside Liège has surrendered to the elements, its orderly rows long since swallowed by moss and decay. One flat gravestone, its raised cross still discernible beneath a thick coat of vibrant green, lies half-buried among scattered dead leaves and crumbling stone fragments. The only movement is my own—white sneakers stepping carefully through the quiet, overgrown silence that now defines this forgotten ground.
